Shall I not inform you of the best of your actions, the most pure in the sight of your Lord, the one that raises your status the highest, that is better for you than giving gold and silver (in charity), and better for you than encountering your enemies where you strike their necks and they strike yours?” The companions replied, “Certainly, O Messenger of Allah!” He said, “Remembrance of Allah.” (Tirmidhi)
Another hadith from the Prophet (peace be upon him) states: “He who remembers his Lord and he who does not are like the living and the dead.” (Bukhari and Muslim)
In a divine hadith, Allah says: “I am as My servant thinks I am. I am with him when he makes mention of Me. If he makes mention of Me to himself, I make mention of him to Myself; and if he makes mention of Me in an assembly, I make mention of him in an assembly better than it. And if he draws near to Me a hand’s span, I draw near to him an arm’s length; and if he draws near to Me an arm’s length, I draw near to him a fathom’s length. And if he comes to Me walking, I go to him at speed.”
The Prophet (peace be upon him) also said: “The example of those who remember their Lord and those who do not is like that of the living and the dead.” (Muslim)
And the companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to say: “Verily, the heart rusts as does iron with water.” (Tirmidhi)

Afaan Oromoo Zikrii In the Oromo language, Sheikhul Islam Ibn Taymiyyah mentioned about Zikri: Zikri, when practiced sincerely, purifies the soul from its impurities. So, where else could one seek purification if not in the heart? Love for God, following His commands, adhering to His guidance, seeking repentance and worshiping Him with sincerity are the essence of Zikri. Remembering and contemplating upon the signs of God, His mercy, and His blessings, and striving to fulfill His commands and avoid His prohibitions are integral to Zikri. Through Zikri, individuals strengthen their connection with God and seek His forgiveness for their shortcomings. God Himself has mentioned in the Quran: “I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me.” (Quran) The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) also said: “Verily, none of you will have his prayer answered if he does not believe that Allah is capable of giving or has no sense of urgency in his supplication.” (Ibn Majah) Thus, God is ready to respond to the supplications of His servants, and it is through sincere remembrance and supplication that one finds solace and guidance.
